Box set of four hand-blown glass figures made in Germany by Krebs Glas. These stunning glass ornaments show Hansel & Gretel in traditional costume with glittered clothes and gold shoes. From the European fairy tale, there is obviously the evil witch with her wizened face and her black cat at her feet. The witch is dressed in blue and burnished gold and carrying a glittered walking stick.
The final piuece in the set is a beautiful gingerbread house, with sugared glitter and sweets for the door and windows - it looks good enough to eat.
The wicked witch is 16cm (6.5ins) high, while Hansel and Gretel are 13cm (5ins) and the gingerbread house stands 11cm (4.5ins) by 9cm (3.5ins) wide.
All four figures are free-blown and hand-painted glass by craftsmen at Krebs Glas at Lauscha in Germany.
To keep the ornaments secure, the decorations are wrapped in tissue inside a beautiful green card box and can be stored away safely in it year after year. |
